Some Assembly Required

If you are close enough that I can drop off your targets you get to skip this step.  If it shows up in a crate you have some wrench time…

Some minor assembly is required for you to use your new target.  But it is very basic and uses the same tools you will need when you make adjustments to the mechanism, two 9/16″ wrenches.  You will also need a couple of larger wrenches to install the axles for the wheels.

The base frame will need to be assembled and you will need to attach the crossbar with the stake pockets

Here are all the parts of the base layed out ready to assemble, 2 leg sections with feet attached, the center “spider”, the front spacer, two wheels and all the bolts.

There is a top and a bottom to the leg sections, the foot on the bottom is longer than the handle….  and the section that holds the wheel should look like this when placed on the ground.

Wheel installed, and no it should not be touching the ground.  You don’t need to overtighten the bolts for the wheels, just make sure they roll.

There is a left and a right but you can’t put them on wrong.  The bolt holes will only line up one way as they are spaced differently on each side of the spider on purpose.

Push all the parts together and insert the bolts.  No washers are needed as the nuts are all locking nuts.  The spacer between the wheels will fit either way.  Now just tighten up all the bolts and the base is ready to go.

The only other part you have to install is the cross bar for the stakes that hold the cardboard and shirt.

To get the bolts in you will have to remove the lockpin on the torso to allow it to pivot.  Then lower the torso all the way back.  This will prevent it from suddenly moving on you while you are installing the crossbar.

Insert the bolts from the same side that the pillar stop is on.  The head of the bolt is thinner and this is for clearance reasons.

Tighten the two bolts and you are done with assembly.

Optional….

The left over bolt has a place.  If you leave the target assembled or use it on rough ground, this bolt will lock the lower pillar to the base.  It keeps the pillar from pulling out during movement.  If you find the need to frequently take the target apart, you don’t need to install it.
