KTAK RPS Drop
This is what the target has evolved to.    Truly a multi platform knockdown steel target.  Rifle, pistol and shotgun….  hence the “RPS” moniker added to the name.

Latest iteration of what holds the chest plate to the target, also shows a bit of the head linkage….

This target is made from hardened steel plate and is armored to accept hits from virtually every handgun ever made as well as .223/5.56 Nato, 300 Blackout (sub and supersonic) 7.62 x 39mm, 6.8 SPC and 7.62x40WT.  A recent update may even allow for much larger calibers on the chest plate but still needs some durability testing to confirm this.

And even though the target is tough enough for rifle, it still functions extremely well with pistol rounds and shotgun rounds.  It truly is a multi platform target.

Fresh paint on a completed target

Rifle rounds are really tough on steel.  After a bit of tinkering I came up with an interesting solution.   Just took a little outside the box thinking to armor the target.   And some of this new armor is just as innovative as the target itself…

Optional Extras

Bolt Kit  –  While I have never had a bolt come loose or break from an errant round, I don’t want to go home if I am at the range so I offer a small kit of bolts, washers and nuts to keep on hand just in case…

Target Template  –   When covering the target I have always used cardboard I cut out myself.  This template is the pattern I use and even has cutouts for marking out the strike zones of the steel.

Bolt on Head Plate, head plate holds on the armor rod as well

Additional Strike Plates  –  All strike plates as well as the armor that protects the target is replaceable without user welding.  While pistol targets will most likely never need new strike plates, rifle rounds are tough on steel so they will need occasional replacement.
Need other options, just ask….
